Background
Before founding The Outdoor Standard, Tom spent ten years as Head Gardener at Forest Lodge, one of Adelaide’s most exclusive heritage-listed estate gardens.
He has also worked within design-led landscape environments and in structured maintenance programming roles, contributing to the planning and coordination of ongoing landscape care. This experience reinforced the importance of systems, consistency, and disciplined execution in maintaining established outdoor spaces.
Alongside hands-on stewardship, Tom has completed Certificate III qualifications in horticulture and landscape construction. This blend of formal training and practical experience informs how The Outdoor Standard operates today — through defined programs, technical understanding, and a long-term approach to plant health and landscape integrity.
